Grantsville Vs. Ogden

This week we had a Sophmore game because Ogden didn't have a J.V. team. It's kindof confusing but the Juniors went to delta, same with Freshman and Sophmores stayed home to Play ogden. I only had to sit out Mondays practice, due to my back. Practice this week was alright because in Team O we got to run a sophmore huddle. But enough of practice, the game for us and the Freshman went well, but since ours went better I'll talk about it first. First off there were only 16 Sophmores to start with, so i was on everything except kick return which didn't matter because we only did it once at the very start of the game. On our first drive, we get down to the 20 yard line and we pass it, my first chance at a pass since freshman year. But while we were warming up before the game they never passed it to me on this play. Nevertheless I was wide open and the pass it to me, it was a little low, but remember I am not a freshman anymore I actually want to catch a ball. I catch it and turn up field, and little did I know I was on the one yard line, but I slipped and fell trying to stay inbounds. I was way mad because I wanted a touchdown really bad this game.

Defense was alright except that they didn't pass a lot so it wasn't really that fun. On punt I got a tackle, that was pretty cool. But offense is where I really shined this game. They call that same pass play again and I was really stoked(stoked ha ha) anywho, I was wide open again but they over throw me so I don't catch it. At halftime the score is 28-0. Were ahead if you didn't figure out. So I was nervous that I wouldn't get my touchdown that I wanted, but all that changed when we called a power pass. I run my corner route and I was open again so he throws it to me, it was a little short, but this was my only chance to score, so I catch it off the corners shoulder pad and turn and start running, I had about 20 yards to go and all I saw was green. Then this safety comes out of nowhere, I didn't know whether to keep running or to juke him out, then I thought, he is from ogden I better juke him out, so I try it, I pretty much broke his ankles. I still had about 10 yards to go, I ran faster than I think I have ever ran before. I couldn't believe it I actually ran for a touchdown. It was way cool. Brett is pretty jealous, mostly because everyone at school asks brett the same thing: Hey did you get a touchdown pass in your game? brett says no and then they say, because your brother did. It was a way fun game. It felt like freshman year all over again except that this game I actually wanted to do well and play hard. Playing hard is a lot more fun I have figured out, I wish I figured that out last year. Oh I forgot the ending score was 48-0.

Freshman won 32-8 and Juniors lost 20-14. Brett said he did alright. Both Freshman had already played Delta earlier in the season. So it showed that freshman could beat them twice and that the Sophmores are a big help on the J.V. team. Varsity lost 28-32. But we had a 16-8 lead at halftime( our first lead ever) and a 22-8 lead in the 3rd quarter. Of course the week we lose we get an arcticle in the paper saying that Ogden came from behind to win. Didn't we come from behind 2 weeks in a row to win, thats what i thought. Also our game was the only one from our region that wasn't on the touchdown report on channel 2. In our pictures there are none of me on the field because the camera stops working when the game started. Refs didn't show up so we couldn't start untill six because that is when they were scheduled to come, but the still didn't show up so it was prett much a scrimage. Atleast we got to play under the lights. I got a T.D. under the lights. And the video camera broke at halftime so I didn't get my TD on tape, but another parent taped it so atleast I will be able to see it.
