So Close to 5-0

So our JV team was so close to ending our region season 5-0 this week, but we ended up losing 21-28. It was a really good game, we kept up with them and they the same with us. They just had the ball last and ended up scoring with 18 seconds left. After winning your last 6 games in a row, winning is such a habit that you forget what it is like to lose. Of course I know what it is like to lose a varsity game that I don't even play in, but to lose a game where you only sat out for 5 minutes tops, is quite frustrating. If I forget about the last minute of that game, I had a pretty good game. That last minute though, I gave up a 20 yard pass which put them on the 10 yard line with 30 seconds left.

All in all though we had a really good season with an overall record of 6-3. Varsity on the other hand lost to Morgan 40-0 on Friday and we now play in a 3 ring circus on Tuesday, to see who gets the 4th playoff spot in our region.

We have another 4 day weekend this week, but because of the playoff game, we have practice twice on Monday and the game on Tuesday, I never thought I would start and end my season with 2-a-days.

Bummer to hear about that loss!!! So close. It is funny that varsity only wins 2 games in the year but has a chance at making the playoffs. Reminds me of our 3-8Cougars at Niwot that went to the playoffs (only to get smoke 18-0 against Lewis Palmer. Aaron Ault!!!!)

If only we could say that getting smoked meant losing 18-0. If we were to lose 18-0 we would be happy.

Nice action shots! Taylor donning (doffing?) his helmet, Brett on the way back from picking up his BBQ. Enjoy your last week of practice. You'll miss it in a month or two, promise.
